Title: IMU problem
Post by: RiverAux on September 20, 2008, 03:52:01 PM
I'm trying to install the IMU but don't have NET.Framework 1.1.4322 as required.  When I tried to set it up, it says I don't have it and lets you click a button to go to the Microsoft page where you're supposed to be able to get it.  However, I can't seem to find it there and keep following links all over the place but never get to download it.  Can anyone point me directly to the page that has a link to download that specific version (FYI, my computer is too old to use the latest net.framework version).  Thanks.

The current version of .net is 3.5, you can get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en

Make sure your machine is current for patches and MS Updates as well.

Thats the problem, I can't use the latest version, so need an earlier version that will also work with IMU.

Why can't you use the latest version?

Its worked fine on my machines well past the 1.x recommended.

It said my machine needed to be put in the county museum and was too old to run 3.5.  I downloaded the 1.1 version as cap23 advised -- I had seen it before but the "redistributable" part of the name threw me off.  Got IMU running now -- just have to figure it out.

FYI, I eventually did get IMU and the Net framework programs installed and working.  I played around with IMU a litte, but not enough to be able to offer an opinion on it.

However, what I did discover was that installing the Net framework changed my system so that I had to log into it before my computer would finish booting up and it caused a horrible slowdown in my ability to view web pages.  I've now removed it and every thing is back to normal.  If CAP wants me to use IMU, I'm going to learn on their computers....
