Title: Senior Squadrons focused on GSAR
Post by: RiverAux on September 20, 2008, 02:10:42 PM
In relation to several other recent discussions we've had, is anyone aware of any senior squadrons out there that focus most or all of their efforts on ground search and rescue?  Senior squadrons are typically focused only on air operations and might have a few ground team folks, but thats about it.  But, are there any out there going the other direction?

If there are some out there that you know about, how are they doing in terms of recruiting members for this activity?  Squadron size?  Are they being used for GSAR by the locals?

Never heard of one. At least in CAWG.

Wish there was one. If there is one in TXWG, sure would be great.

Washoe Jeep Squadron  http://www.nvwg.cap.gov/units/wjs.htm

The Jeep Squadron is listed as a resource in the Washoe Health District MCI plan.
