Title: New 2A
Post by: davidsinn on September 16, 2008, 06:14:16 PM
FYI
There is a new F2A dated October2008 on cap.gov in the word section.

Looks like the biggest change is to the property transfer agreement on the back - old form was only for LG and some wings had edited the form for other offices that had property (i.e. Comms), now its not department specific.

Good catch.

Found by accident. Was filling out a 2A for my red service ribbon.

Wouldn't it be nice if our commanders and "supervisors" would put us in for awards for doing a good job instead of us having to do it ourselves?  I hate the concept of patting ourselves on the back.

Congratulations. Now look around and wonder where the last two years went... ;D

Yeah. My chain of command only has one link in it though, and he just bought a house and has been away for almost 3 months working on it. I just put up 3 red service ribbons for some of my people last month but since I joined a month after them I had to wait. I do try to take care of the people that work for me.

I've become double-jointed!  :D

One good thing about the CG Aux is that "routine" awards are handled entirely by the DIRAUX (sort of equivalent to a CAP-USAF regional office) and are pretty much automated and all the local unit has to do is hand them out.

And they all can be verified online.

It'd be nice if all squadrons had enough members doing their jobs. I'm the squadron commander, personnel, admin, prof dev and filling in as comm.  I've got 23 senior members, and only 6 are doing jobs. I've got 5 that I've never seen.   I think it's time to start changing them to Patron member.  But this new senior renewal process may help change that.

It's a sad thing but I don't think you're in the minority.  It sounds pretty much like my squadron.  We have 28 seniors, 7 or 8 are doing the work.   :(

I'm still wondering that for myself.  In a year, I attach a second clasp.  Yikes.

Funny, in my CG Aux unit every staff position is filled and about 85% of them are actually doing the jobs while my CAP unit, which is of roughly the same size, has the same problem you describe.  Perhaps it is because local staff jobs with the Aux are actually charged with doing something rather than being solely focused on administration of the unit, which is the case with most of the CAP jobs.
