Does anyone have or know of a receipt form or template to give to a person/organization for donation of money/items etc. I figure anything will work but I would like to give out official or at least official looking receipts and if I can steal your work, I won't have to do it myself ;). Thanks for sharing....
Have you tried hitting up National or your wing finanace folks? They may have something already.
Didn't see anything on my Wings site or on Nationals. Thanks for the suggestion, I sent a email to the Wing FO. I also tried googleing for examples from other organizations but didn't have any luck.... :-\
Go to the "Pubs and Forms" page of eservices. CAPR 173-2 has the template form for donations. It must be signed by the Wing/CC to make it valid.

Thanks again FW,
I looked at the PDF and didn't notice one. The only thing I saw that I thought was related was the Asset report. Your not referring to that are you?

I am looking for something I can hand to a person/organization that
they can use for
their purposes [tax/accounting etc].
Does this really need to always (in every case) be signed by the Wing CC? If a random person donates $100 or $400 or even $50 and wants a receipt, I have to tell them to wait for me to snail/email my Wing Commander for a signature on a pre-filled out form or letter? Something tells me the IRS or the regional level person at walmart wont care if it is the Squadron CC or Wing CC or their designated person. (At least not for their purpose.) Especially if the funds are for the squadron level.
Since there may be one in a reg someplace. (That I still can't find) would that mean it MUST be used and no local form can be generated? Why isn't there a CAP FXXX for this or at least guidance on what needs to be written on one. (Name of Org, Address? Phone #? Tax ID? etc?)
Someone on this forum has had to have been asked for a receipt of donation before, what did you do?
Sorry, wrong reg. Go to CAPR 173-4 attachment 1.
For donations over $250 a signed receipt from the Wing/CC is needed. If the donation is for less than $250 it's not required unless the individual would like to deduct it on their taxes. The receipt is only considered "official" by the IRS if a corporate officer is the signor.

Missed seeing that by 1 page while looking up info about the raffle post.... Thanks again FW. Also thanks for clarification on the corporate officer signature.
Also, you cannot accept "things" of any type. All property must be accepted by Wing.
