Title: USA Freedom Corps
Post by: KyCAP on August 31, 2008, 06:00:40 PM
Just a thought... Shouldn't there be a CAP group code somewhere so that we can log our time volunteering and get some recognition?

The http://www.usafreedomcorps.gov/for_orgs/overview/index.asp (http://www.usafreedomcorps.gov/for_orgs/overview/index.asp) looks like there is a "time sheet" to be able to capture local and "group" time..

Other ideas for trying to track our volunteering time that anyone has used?  A good web 2.0 application?

An excel spreadsheet or SIMS can do it for you.

If you want more bling, you can get it here, at your own cost: http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/

I haven't looked at SIMS is a long while.   Those both seem to place a lot of workload back on Squadron Staff some where..

The Presidential Service Award seems to at least push the data entry back on to the end-user.

I got a silver award for my 2007 volunteer work.  My employer has a site where I register my monthly hours.  I include my CAP hours, my CD hours, etc....  I only did just a little over 300 hours last year.

I think CAP Insights will process the /CAPI_PVSA.html]President's "Call to Service" Award (http://[bannedurl) free to CAP members. Check the web site for more details.
