Title: Joint Dakota Cadet Leadership Encampment & North Central Region Cadet Leadership
Post by: Capt Rivera on July 16, 2008, 07:12:15 AM
Greetings from Camp Grafton,

The Joint Dakota Cadet Leadership Encampment (JDCLE) and the North Central Region Cadet Leadership School (NCR-CLS) invite you to join cadets and officers from far and wide, via "virtual encampment". The professionals you join, hail from North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Hawaii, Kansas and Montana. You are challenged to experience with cadets, as they endeavor through the process of becoming an encampment graduate.

As you explore, don't forget to leave questions, comments and messages for the participants. Your interest and encouragement are driving forces which will see these cadets through the completion of their goals.

On behalf of the Commander, Lt Col James Peace , you are empowered to commence your journey by visiting http://jdcle.spaces.live.com. You will find updates and additions added throughout the day, everyday, so come back frequently. Please ensure this message receives the widest dissemination.

Very Respectfully

//Signed//

Joshua Rivera, 1st Lt
Director of Public Affairs
2008 JDCLE & NCR-CLS

Some videos will be making there way onto the site today.

Look for a special story about a young woman (Senior Member Officer) setting a Camp Grafton 1st:
She is legally blind and SAFELY repelled down the tallest Tower. She is the first blind person to attempt this at Camp Grafton and probably in CAP. Pictures and video to fallow soon.

Please let me know if that is an incorrect statement.

FYI, "Senior Member" is still the correct referential term. "Officer" was suggested primarily for external correspondence to help avoid confusion.

Well, the letter that was issued is no longer posted to the ICL list on the Pubs page, so I guess the policy, as confusing as it was, went away with its progenitor. Good thing, I say.

YMMV.

I don't think that letter was ever posted in ICL or policy letter form.  It was just a letter from HWSNBN.

Why is it good.  There is nothing wrong with calling Senior Members "Officers".  I introduce my SQD members as "My Officers" to visitors etc.  They are wearing Officer Rank Insignia!
