I haven't seen this mentioned here and I know some folks know about this but for those who don't.
The average cost of Microsoft Office Professional is about $300 to $400 bucks.
There is a clearing house for non profits called http://www.techsoup.org/ which distributes all kinds of software including MS.
Your cost for Office is $20 admin fee with an open license. Can't beat that deal!
You have to read the conditions carefully. The rules on budgets and organization types for various companies on there is a killer for CAP.
The trick is to buy Office with a new computer and factor it with other discounts you may get.

IIRC MS Office 2007 Professional Plus license was about $76. A DVD cost extra but you could use it to install multiple licenses that you buy.
You need to call them to work with the non-profit POC but the procedures are straight forward.
The best thing to do is use " Open Office " it is just as good and it is FREE!!!

The only problem is, you can't use SIMS with it.
