I was mapping out the progression of (almost) all of the ES qualifications (http://nharmon.multics.org/graphics/esqualsprogress.jpg), and came across some conflicting information on Ground Branch Director. Specifically, there seems to be a conflict as to what the prerequisite qualifications are.
CAPR 60-3 (http://level2.cap.gov/documents/u_082503073358.pdf), which I would think is the overriding authority, says GTL or UDF:
Quotem. Ground Branch Director (GBD).
1) Trainee Prerequisites. Satisfy the following to begin training for GBD:
a) At least 18 years of age.
b) Qualified Ground Team Leader or Urban DF Team Member (need not be current).
c) Qualified GES.
2) Qualified. Complete all requirements listed in the most current version of the Mission Base Staff Task Guide for GBD.
However, the SQTR (http://ntc.cap.af.mil/es/sqtrs/SQTR%20Ground%20Branch%20Director.pdf) lists only GTL as the prerequisite qualification.
Am I missing something?
CAPR 60-3 para 2-3 states that "for each specialty rating, standards have been developed to train and qualify members in stages. The most currrent versions of the task guides for all specialties are found at the National HQ Operations website." The Mission Base Training Guide (Apr 2005) is the most current version and contains the "official" SQTR for GBD. It requires GTL and does not mention UDF.
Check out the powerpoint breifing on this site:

It shows the roadmap for Ops Quals based on the requirements in the draft 60-3. The slides also come with filled out note pages.

So, is the regulation saying to follow the SQTR and not the regulation?

That powerpoint has an mistake for SAR/DR Mission Pilot. TMP is a prerequisite for MP.
I was surprised at that as well. However, check the SQTRs - both in Ops Quals in eServices and the Task Guide.
TMP requirements are only 50 XC hours and 100 PIC hours. You can't be a MP trainee without meeting the XC hours and exceeding the PIC hours. But outside of 60-3, you will not find any reference to being a TMP prior to being a MP. And you will be a TMP anyway if you qualify to train as a MP.
Round about logic, but you don't need to have TMP on your 101 to become a MP.
But an MP will automatically, by virtue of holding that time, be a TMP.
If someone fills out the TMP SQTR and submits it. ;D
