Title: Brookfield, IL Fire Department
Post by: Mister Johnny on June 01, 2008, 02:29:00 PM
When I was at my Parents home in suburban Chicago in May, I was taking a nap with the window open.  I woke up when I started to smell smoke. I looked out the window and I saw a bunch of smoke. I went outside to have a look and saw it was coming from down the block. Here are the pictures that I took. No one was injured. The town's fire department had most of it's assets on the other side of town on a practice exercise. The house that was on fire is one block from the fire station. When they were returning from the exercise, the drove past the house and started to extinguish the blaze before they received a 911 call. Towns from around the area also responded to get some "Live Fire" training. Fun Fact: I played little league base ball with the town's fire chief

Good Pics, bad situation.  Is the Red Cross offering help with shelter and food for the family?

I have been through Brookfield, nice town.

These pictures were actually taken in April, not May. The family did not need the services of the Red Cross
