Well, after 22 years Active Duty I finally had enough and put my paperwork in for retirement.
As of 1 Nov 2008 I will be MSgt Patrick M. Harris, USAF (RET).
I retired with 30 yrs combined AD and ANG. Hope the next phase of your life is rewarding for you.

Congrats on surviving AD.
So when do you start your contractor job? ;)
I salute you for your service to our nation and wish you the best in the next chapter of your life.
Congratulations, and thank you for serving our country.
I assume you'll be staying in CAP, but do you know where you'll be living yet? Staying in Vegas?
Best Wishes,
Judy
Yes I am staying in CAP....I may have to step down from command depending on the demands of the new job......but I will still be working my GTL butt off.
It looks really good for that contractor job too! One of those leave work one daying wearing BDUs and comming back the next day wear jeans and a polo shirt deals! >:D
But now you actually have choices! ;D Life will be good.
Congrads and thanks for your service!
Congratulations! I know it's a great feeling to have accomplished that milestone. Welcome to the brotherhood of the blue ID card! :D
Gunner
Sincerest wishes for a long and happy retirement and my deepest thanks for your service!
Jack
Congrats on making the change.
SFC Don Ross, US Army, Retired
Congratulations, sir, and thank you for your years of service.
Funny how the contractor jobs work out. My father retired from the AF (E-7) and ended up with a contractor job...doing the same thing he did when he was active duty. He says the pay is better and he can wear shorts in the summer.
Best of luck to you!
Congratulations and my deepest respect.
I have the greatest respect for anyone who retires from government service, military or otherwise, just for having put up with all the nonsense that the government throws at you.
I've got 22 years of combined military/civilian service with the Army so far, so I know of what I speak. ::)
Congrats and thank you sir! Retirement should be a blast after so long on active duty!
Congrats, Patrick. 22 years of service ain't easy - but it's sure worthwhile, to you AND to us.
Now you just have to learn how to choose what to wear every morning! :)
Congratulations Patrick! Kick back and enjoy. For 48 hours.
Then you report for "Active duty in the CAP."
Trust me... I'm there!
"Since you are retired, could you take care of ____ during the week?" (Fill in blank with whatever distasteful task is being discussed.)
Congrats on the retirement. Try and get some goof off time before you have to enter the grind.
Congratulations!
Congratulations!!! No more PT tests or early morning drug screens....
Wait, that was the Army.... nevermind
Don't blow all your retirement checks at the casino...
Congratulations, and best of luck in retirement!
Patrick: I can't add much original to what has already been said: you earned it, you deserve and you better enjoy it.
You, I and a lot of others have joined a fraternity that the protected cannot understand.
Thanks for your dedicated service.
Paul
Thank you for your service and I hope the very best for you!
Congrats Sir!!!! ;D
Well done!
Keep the wheels turning - I'm hittin' the gym, and gunning for my Commercial!
Congrates!
Congrats sir! and thank you for your service to our country :)
Man, he must have been really excited to announce his offical retirement. Best of luck to you on the golf course man!!!
Hey MSgt Mr. Harris, do I have a deal for you. You see, there's this quasi-military organization called Civil Air Patrol. You can keep your AF rank or even become an officer. And since you've got the Senior NCO acadmey under your belt, you won't have to do ECI-13....wait....are you the same Patrick Harris that goes by "Captain Harris" and commands the Nellis CAP Squadron?
Nevermind...dern, I wanted another recruiting ribbon.

Another? Or just another device? ;D Good try.
Yes, thanks a lot, Capt. Harris, for your great service to this country. We all appreciate it a lot.
