Title: I get to fly an ex-CAP plane
Post by: flyguy06 on April 11, 2008, 10:02:27 PM
This is interesting. In addition to colunteering with Civil Air Patrol, I also am a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. We are starting an air support unit and we already have two )H-58 helicopters. We recently took ownership of a Cessna 182.  When I went out to look at it, I was surprised to see a 182 with the CAP paint scheme. Apparently, we purchased this aircraft from someone whopurchased it fromCAP. It had the CAP paint scheme minus the CAP emblems. We arent flying it yet due to insurance but I got to taxi it yesterday.

Awesome!

Reminds me of the episode of "Home Improvement" where Tim goes to the car crushing yard and finds the car he drove in high school.  Just don't let the Cessna get crushed at the end of the episode.  ;)
