Title: Hock Shop Problem
Post by: Cecil DP on March 21, 2008, 04:48:50 AM
I ordered 20 ribbons for our cadets who had completed the FL Winter encampment on the 5th of March. Never heard back. When I called they said never received the order. Reorderd and added another $200 worth of insignia for the unit. I have been charged over $200 and it still wasn't showing up as a recent or pending order. After sending an email I got the reply that "We don't post phone orders on the website" How do they track orders? And how do I prove an order was was not receicved or is correct if they won't say what they sent. I think I'll shop with Vanguard in the future-They are more expensive, but do verify orders and shipping.

I am pretty bummed to hear this.  I was a cadet right near where the Hock Shop and they were awesome to my squadron.  I try to give them as much of my CAP business as I can (minus cloth insignia/badges).  They are great with internet orders.  Vanguard seems to be real hit or miss.  Some items ship almost as well as military items of the like, and others....an infinity.  All I can say is give Tom a call and he is a reasonable guy he should be able to help you out.  Good luck!

Agreed!  Call'em up and talk to them.  Tom really works hard for his business.

I haven't had a problem with Hock shop, I buy most of my stuff there including my cloth grades and such.  The only problem I have had was one item was B/O'd he didn't notify me, I had to call 3 times and I asked when it would be there and so on etc... it took 3 months before I saw the last of my order.

I liked Vanguard, they shipped via FedEx everytime I ordered :). Alittle pricer... I guess I should stick to VG. However I've only ordered from VG once.

I go with the Hock for speed and for most items its a moot point.  However, for GT insignia, there is a difference in the quality of the fabric and actual badge design.  If you have the time, vanguard isn't a bad option but if you need something in 48 hours, the Hock can send in there at a reasonable price.
