I have forgotten or don't know some of the acronyms you guys are using.
IIRC?
NIMS?
:-\ :) ;)
Anything else you may come up with.
Thanks
IIRC If I recall correctly
NIMS National Incident Management System
WIWAC When I was a cadet
WIWASC When I was a Squadron Commander (this is my invention and I'm waiting for it to catch on  )
lolz pretty soon we'll be talking acronyms instead of full legnth proper english on the forums :P ;)
I don't get the luxury of saying when I was a cadet, cuz I never was :(
CAP = Civil Air Patrol ;D
Civil Air Patrol= LOTS OF $$$$$$ FROM OUR POCKETS

most definetely and while I don't agree with all the money we have to spend, I still do it because I enjoy CAP and really $60-$70 a year is not bad (comes to approx $5/month) but then again it doesn't include uniforms, patches, grade epaulettes, senior member social dinners, activities, encampments, transportation to meetings every week, weekly visits to the squadron's facilities to do your duties outside of CAP meeting time/days.
I spend about $215-$275/month on CAP with my membership dues and uniform costs broken down in a monthly fashion even though I pay them all up front. This includes the approximation of my meals that I spend on during table tops and SAREXs, encampments, etc. I only went to one encampment, I am not going again this year I learned alot but I wasn't impressed.
And if you take into account all the social dinners and meals for training of course I don't HAVE to pay for anything I can just A) Not go, B) hang out while they eat/bring my own food and eat before/after they go to the restraunt). I don't remember meals being provided for free except ONE time and that was the last time I ever saw free meals and if it were free all the time I suppose there wouldn't be much of our squadron or wing.
My expense is going to get thicker in 2008 when I have to buy new sets of uniforms because I don't meet weight standards for AF style (recently), and besides I want to have another set that isn't so "AFsy looking" and more distinctive :). I'm going to guess my uniforms expense will cost me $250-$325 for the year (hence I am not going to encampment).
All nonetheless I like CAP, I will do what I enjoy despite the nuances, spending money to do it is not nearly as bad as impossible to get on base.

Or, as we used to think with the previous national commander...
Officer 1 "Hey, I heard there's another uniform policy letter coming down from NHQ"
Officer 2 "BOHICA!"
YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary
HWSRN = He Who Shall Remain Nameless.

Boy, that got me ROTFLMAO
Rolling On The Floor, Laughing My [censored] Off
FUBAR - Fouled up beyond all belief
SNAFU - Situation Normal All fouled up
IMHO - In my hubble opinion
LOL - Laughing out loud
LOLMAO - laughing out loud my (Butt) off
LOLMAONTMHF - Laughling out loud my (butt) off needing the mental health floor
AFAIK = As Far As I Know
Grammar Cop note -
It's really an initialism if it doesn't make a pronounceable word.
FUBAR, FUBAB, SNAFU, BOHICA all qualify as acronyms.
AFAIK, LOL (debatable), LOLMAO, LOLMAONTMHF, YMMV, HWSRN, IIRC, NIMS, WIWAC, , WIWASC are all initialisms.
Traditionally, CAP is treated as an initialism (like GPS), instead of an acronym.
More definitions:
FWIW - for what it's worth
FUBAB - fouled up beyond all belief
CAP - come and pay; cash and plastic
WIWOAD When I was on Active Duty
WIWAS When I was a Squid
WIWAK When I was a Kid
Not wanting to start this topic again.....
WIWAIAWGCAPM - When I was a IAWG CAP Member
Back to the other......
CAP - Come and Pay
Wouldn't WIWAC be an acronym too, and not an initialism? We always pronounce it "why-whack."

Eh, maybe. I've never used it in spoken conversation.
YMMV.
I pronounce it "Wee-Whack."
Don't forget TPU!
Do n't forget "RLO."
Real, Live, Officer.
ICS - Incident command system
ICP - Incident command post
IPP- Initial planning point
PLS- Point last sean
LKP- Last known position
