Title: Missouri Wing Encampment 2008
Post by: Nathan on February 05, 2008, 05:47:09 AM
Some of the Missouri Wing Summer Encampment 2008 details have been set up, so I figured that I would get these details out while everyone is still trying to make their plans. Not all of the details are hammered out yet; I will continually update the information as it becomes available, as well as posting in the thread with the changes that have been made.

The encampment will be held over the dates of July 27 - Aug 03, 2008. The location is Camp Crowder, located in Neosho, MO. The cost for all participants will be $100.

The deadline for basic application has not yet been established; however, staff applications will be accepted until May 01, 2008. All staff will be expected to arrive on July 25th for the encampment, and there will be a Staff-Training Weekend at some time in the month of May or June; the date has not yet been established. I will let Maj Oldham or Lt Col O'Neill cover the senior staff positions available, but in terms of cadet staff, the following positions are still open:

Those interested in cadet staff positions must email Maj Julie Oldham (mailto:julie.oldham@gmail.com) and C/Lt Col Nathan Scalia with their intent. This includes what position is desired, a short essay on why you feel you are qualified for this position, and a one-page resume. A letter of recommendation is acceptable, but not necessary.

The address for paperwork to be sent has not yet been determined, but the following forms are necessary for all cadet staff:

CAPF 31 (http://www.mocapsgf.net/encampment08/F31.dot)
MOWG Form 9a (http://www.mocapsgf.net/encampment08/MOF009a.doc)
MOWG Form 9 (http://www.mocapsgf.net/encampment08/Form9.dot)
Form 60 (http://www.mocapsgf.net/encampment08/F60.dot)[/list]

All of the above information and more can be found on the MOWG Summer Encampment Website (http://www.mocapsgf.net/encampment08/main.htm), which is also updated as often as is possible with new information.

I realize that this is all very tentative, but on the other hand, this is still six months out. We have a lot of information still in the works, and will be posted as soon as we are sure that it is correct to avoid any confusion.

Regards,
C/Lt Col Nathan Scalia
Cadet Commander

Our cadet staff has been selected, and we are still accepting basic cadet applications for the MOWG Summer Encampment.

Dates for basic attendees will be 27 July through 2 August. Encampment senior and cadet staff will be expected to arrive on 25 July. Cost will be $100 for cadets and $50 for seniors.

This year's encampment at Camp Crowder is shaping up to be an extremely fun and rewarding activity for all attendees. We currently have a static display of an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, rappelling, and orientation flights in Blackhawk helicopters scheduled, plus many activities for cadets to exercise their leadership abilities to the fullest!

Cadet applications must be received by 1 July. If applications are received after 1 July, there will be a $15 late fee. Applications will not be accepted after 20 July.

Basic Attendees should also submit their application to Wing HQ. Applicants must mail a completed Form 31, a MOWG Form 9a,a Form 9 (the portion for parents of minors), and a Form 60 to MOWG HQ.

All paperwork and money needs to be sent to:

Whiteman AFB, MO 65305

Do not use FedEx, UPS, or DHL to this address as they will not deliver to a PO Box. Make checks out to: Missouri Wing - Civil Air Patrol .
