Title: Hawaii might step up
Post by: RiverAux on January 21, 2008, 03:29:14 AM
From an article talking about some of the priorities for a couple of Hawaii legislators for their next state session: http://kauaiworld.com/articles/2008/01/16/news/news03.txt
QuoteCritical to all residents and visitors, Sagum said, is a bill to fund the civil air patrol — a statewide system that assists with tsunami warnings.

Money is unavailable to train the pilots that fly out and caution people on beaches that are unaware there is a warning, the representative said.

Interestingly, Hawaii actually already gets $110,000 from the state every year making it one of the best funded wings in the country.

Do you have data on that - I know of several that get a lot more...

So if you define "best funded" as top 10 it's true.

Its still true as I said "one of the best funded", not "the best funded".  Reading comprehension, dude.
