Title: Awards Write Ups
Post by: Capt M. Sherrod on December 05, 2007, 07:45:35 PM
I was wondering if anyone here had any templates for write-ups that you have put others in for.  In particular, Commander's Commendation, Jack Sorenson (Cadet Programs), etc.  I have several officers that I would like to put in for the awards, but I have absolutely no idea on how to effectively write them up for it.  Call it writer's block, if you will.  Thank you for your help with this.

I thought we did this a while back...

I use the following general format:

For Promotions:

As of XX-XXX-XXXX  Lt Donutgetter completed the requirements for promotion to the Grade of Field Marshal 1st Class in accordance with CAPR 35-5 Section 152.A.6.  He is therefore recommended for promotion to the grade of Field Marshal 1st class.

For Gimme Awards:

As of XX-XXX-XXXX  Maj Seamtester completed the requirements for award of the Purple Doohickey Award by completeing 100 years service and buying 50 dozen donuts in accordance with CAPR 39-3 Section A.12.3.a.  He is therefore recommended for the Purple Doohickey Award.

For Real Awards:

On XX-XXX-XXXX  Capt Marvel saved 300 starving orphans from a burning building while blowing out the fire at great personal risk to himself.  Additionally, he has been a member for 3 months and completed all levels of professional development, and is qualified to do every function in Emergency Services except perform Brain Surgery without a physicians assistance.  He is the worlds greatest pilot, observer, scanner and GT member and does it all while acting as IC.  He walks on water and is second only to Chuck Norris.  His actions reflect the highest caliber of volunteer professional service and bring great credit to him and the organization.  Captain Marvel is therefore highly recommended for the Super-Duper Award in accordance with CAPR 39-3 Section 123.ABC.d., e., & f.

You get the idea... ;)

LMAO!

You know I hear that Chuck Norris is known to wear brown shoes with his black belt. No one has dared call him on it...  :D

Chuck radiates wisdom when people are around him. No one will call him on it becaue they know that they'll never eat solid food again.

I would like to see a real writeup for a Distinguished Service Medal. I have samples for some but no "real meat" for a DSM.

Here's the write up for a DSM...

"Col So and So has served as a wing commander, most likely throughout their term, accomplished almost nothing but simply because they are a corporate officer they are entitled to this."

I would'nt diminish the DSM for a Wing Commander but understand the humor. I need one for something other than a former Wing Commander.

DELETED  On second thought, didn't need to comment about specific instances of DSM's that weren't justified.

I have an example of an award writeup if anyone wants it.  Just PM me and I will email it to you if you like.
