Title: Other Civil Air Patrols the Comprehensive Thread

Austalia- "Serving the Nation"

Colombia- "Angels Exist"

Brazil- "Find, Rescue and Salvation"

I read the Brazilian site and I believe someone from the US saw CAP and duplicated in there in the 1950s.  The Aussies seemed to have adapted the CAP to the Commonwealth and the Colombian one is more like "flying doctors."

But...

The Brazilian CAP has berets, subdued name patches, twin-engine airplanes, helicopters, and NO TPU!

They also do not have ceremonial swords, at least not on their website.

But whoever designed their sleeve patches must have been drunk or assumed everyone was on steroids... they are HUGE!

Done!  Pre-planning for a US CIVIL AIR PATROL ATTACK is now being conducted.  WE need brave men and women (age is not a matter) to drop pages of the US Constitution out of our Cessna's as we overfly Brazil.  Since they stole everything else from us except democracy, perhaps it will catch on now!  Who's with me?  Actually I will not be going I have a huge project I need to get back to work on, and my Mom said I can't go invading anymore sovereign nations.  Iraq and Afghanistan were enough she says!  What do Mothers know anyway?

While I don't have anything against the use of the name "Civil Air Patrol" by other SAR organizations in the world, using the same basic logos goes too far.  That is stealing.

National HQ should threaten to sue the Patrula Area Civil (Brazilian Civil Air Patrol) unless they come up with a different logo and command crest.  The logo and command crest are trademarks of Civil Air Patrol, inc.

As a side note, there's no reason to put "U.S." in "Civil Air Patrol" just because other organizations in the world use the same name.  [[comment redacted by admin]]

Isnt Brazil where all the naughty people go with all their naughty money and live in naughty little villas and drive WWII vintage cars?

No.

Brazil is where the bikini was perfected, reducing the "Two-piece" bathing suit to a "Three-piece" bathing suit consisting of two band-aids and a piece of string.

Yyyyyyeah, they should sue them!  In that International small claims court run by the World Government.  That'll teach them!  Oh wait.....   ::)

All:

Lay off the Brazilians!

Their CAP has twin-engine planes (!)

I'll bet they have their National Boards to coincide with "Carnavale" (think: Mari-Gras w/string bikinis.)

Definitely more than meets the skies. . .

OK. This post has nothing to do about Brazil. The invasion is a go, I will be MRO. But I am curious. We are the United States of America. TP has authorized the wear of a tape that says "U.S. Civil Air Patrol". Now I'm wondering. Puerto Rico is not a US state, but yet they are gonna have to wear this tape come 2010. [[comment redacted by admin --mk]] I smell the black van again.

Puerto Rico is a self governing unincorporated territory of the United States with Commonwealth status.  They should have no issue wearing the "U.S." considering they already wear the American flag on their BDUs.

HEY!  Their website says it the idea was brought over by an USAF member!  Who's the traiter?!?!?

A Patrulha Aérea Civil-Brasil chegou no Brasil em 1950 quando seu fundador, integrante da Força Aérea dos Estados Unidos, trouxe a idéia para nosso País.

TRANSLATION from Portugese
The Air Patrol Civil-Brazil arrived in Brazil in 1950 when its founder, a member of the Air Force of the United States, brought the idea for our Country.

I think the funniest thing I have seen on this board was the bit about "There are two Brazilian officers to see you, General."

And thanks for the mental vision of the tonga.  I was in law school with a female exchange student from Brazil who spoke Portuguese, German and English fluently.  That however was not her strongest point.  She was so beautiful that every time I gazed on her my synapses froze.  Man is simply not stressed for so much pleasure.
