Title: CAP wannabes
Post by: RiverAux on August 13, 2007, 03:09:29 AM
Are there any other private search and rescue groups out there that use airplanes and offer their services to local and state government in emergencies?  I am not talking about volunteers with the local county sheriff-affiliated SAR group or something like that, but independent organizations.

Have any of you interacted with these groups either during a search or otherwise?  How did it go?

I know a few

CSAR (Cibola Search and Rescue) based in Albuquerque has had air assets at its disposal for quite some time.

Air Search Rescue has had a number of members in key positions with the PA Search & Rescue Council over the years. That being said, I perdonally haven't had a lot of contact with them outside PSARC meetings or activities.
