Not exactly what I was thinking... what do you guys think?

I Like the "Tactical Hat", one hat fits all.
Black Suede Boots, okay I guess, works for the prior service Navy guys and gals.
Blue Gortex, for those in both CAP and USCGAux, what a cost saver.
Military ribbons and badges on Corporate uniforms, about FREAKING time.
NCOs get a CAP Hat Badge, cool.
The CAP Command Master Chief gets his/her own Rank Insignia, cool.
Still no OCPs.
I like. My wallet on the other hand.....
The one contention I have is with the goretex. I wish they would have gone with black (like the fleece) as I already have a black goretex. But, I found an "LAPD" navy goretex in my size for a decent price ($119 on clearance).
I've been needing to update my ribbons, and was kinda holding out for this change to come. Now that it has, I added the needed clasp to my MSA, the crisis service ribbon, and added the AFOEA while I was at it. Was going to add the two USCG ribbons I earned in the USCGAux, but remembered what a pain it was to have to explain them all the time. $60 to the fine folks at Ultra Thin.
Found a compliant navy blue tac cap on Amazon for $12, ordered last night and on my porch this afternoon (Why can't Jeff Bezos bid on our uniform supplier contract?). Looks good, has the velcro fore and aft for rank and name tape; the front velcro is 2x3", so I'll have to take it off and cut/trim it to size, or just sew the rank directly to the hat. If I'm going that far, will probably remove the back velcro and sew the tape direct. It also has small hook patches on the sides, so I'll have to remove those as well.
Since I didn't have any more, ordered a couple more velcro rank patches and name tapes from Vanguard to the tune of about $28, including shipping.
I'll pass on the black suede boots, thanks.

New ICL says: "8. The following changes authorize the wear of the NCO Cap Device on Service and
Flight Caps."
Then goes on to amend paras 6.2.1.1.1. and 6.2.1.2.1. but nothing re: anything in 6.2.2. (the section addressing the Flight Cap).
???

Say it with me, TYPO. It would be nice if they had done a little quality control before releasing this ICL. ::)
The last change to the 39-1 had removed the Senior Member hat device from the flight cap. This mirrors what the Air Force does.
Vanguard NCO Cap Device (https://www.vanguardmil.com/products/civil-air-patrol-cap-device-nco-cap-device)
So CAP NCO's will wear no Device on the Flight Cap but will wear the above Device on the Service Cap (i.e. Barracks Cover), correct?
USAF Officers, a long time ago, used to wear a miniature US Great Seal Eagle on their Flight Caps, now they just wear their rank insignia.
CAP Officers wear the miniature CAP Officer Cap Device on the Flight Cap to differentiate a CAP Officer from a USAF Officer. If that device is removed from our CAP Device, do we now wear Rank like the USAF, or is the Flight Cap plain except for the Silver and Black braiding on the edges?

USAF Officers NEVER wore an Great Seal Eagle on their flight caps. They have always worn their grade insignia just like they did when they were part of the Army.
SM NCO's wear the CAP NCO Hat Device on their Service Cap, it's the same insignia as the officers wear but with a circle around it. This follows what the Air Force and Army do.
SM NCO's do not wear anything on their flight cap and the wear the "enlisted" flight cap with the blue braid on it and this follows what the Air Force does. This is the same flight cap cadets wear.

Are you sure? I've seen early 1950's photos of USAF Officers wearing the Great Seal on their Flight Badges and you can still find on collector sites and eBay those early Flight Caps with the Seal Device.
For example 1950's USAF Flight Cap (https://www.etsy.com/listing/1462954697/usaf-company-and-field-grade-officers?show_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details).

Roger that, and that's what I thought.
So what about CAP SM Officers, are we still Mini CAP Hat Device on the Flight Cap or are we going to switch to rank insignia as well?
The reason I ask is, when my promotion comes through, I'm going to wear something besides the polo and tac-pants, so I'm putting together a set of Blues and white/greys, haven't desided which to wear but I will need a Flight Cap for the Blues.

Yes, SM Officers still wear the small hat device on their flight caps.
Your 1950's USAF Flight Cap is bogus. Device looks like the small one that is worn on the Female Service Hat.

You're probably right, of course you can't sell anything on the internet that isn't true. ;D
