Title: Save without a Find?
Post by: RogueLeader on September 14, 2016, 09:48:36 PM
Within the past month, we had a mission that we are credited from AFRCC with a Save, but no Find.  Does this make any sense?

Also, what award is given to those members?

It generally occurs on a search in which the subject was found alive while CAP was actively involved in the search, but CAP did not make the find. Think of it as an assist. There have been eight missions this year in which a save but not a find was awarded to a wing. Wyoming has had two of them this year. The cell phone forensics team has been credited with many more than eight saves/no find.

Having been the IC on a mission in which AFRCC awarded us a save/no find, no one got any award or ribbon.

Also remember that SAVE is an AFRCC thing....not a CAP thing.   A FIND is awarded by the IC to the crew(s) and/or base team that actually got eyes on the target.

So...as previously explained.....AFRCC could award a SAVE to everyone involved in the search, CAP, NG, DoD, Local LEO....and CAP did not get the eyes on target...some other agency did.
