Since the thread where we initially discussed this is locked, here's a new one.

While surfing around looking for a patch, I found this document (http://www.incountry.us/CAPPatches/library/Numbers.doc) discussing the history of unit designations. It was published in July 1996, by COL Leonard A. Blascovich, CAP National Historian.
