Mac, if you knew what was that about, why didn't you explain it to Flying Pig who "did not know what he watched?"

Just because ya see "CV69" does not mean ya have the entire story... Was it from the crew or from Joe Schmoe who had a few friends and a few brilliant strokes was able to create this? Was that from a company deciding to post spoof to generate interest in the real movie?

Really, there was no need for sarcasm. And I did not see "69" until ya posted it. It was dark and went so fast.

But really, if you are so smart, why did you post "CV69" and not "CVN-69" which is the official designation?

I guess you are so smart that you do not need to go out as a Ground Team. You are so smart that you actually guess - correctly - where the missing person is located after receiving a report.

Can't we just enjoy a nice Star Wars parody video? This is why we can't have nice things. lol

Luis, lighten up. You'll give yourself an heart attack.

I don't need to 'lighten up.' I have reacted to similar stuff in a similar way. I am 60, will be 61 in December. If I was to have a heart attack for reacting like this, I would have had 1,000 or more by now!

;)

Really, why did he post such a message like this when someone else apparently "did not know" what was being posted? Why didn't he react to that person? He posted a harrasing message and I responded.

Is it time to get this thread locked up?

:D

However, you also have reacted like I did to some messages directed to you.

8)

Edited to add... Is it '...yourself an heart...' or '...yourself a heart...'

;D

Seriously...lighten up. Obviously, there was no harassing message, at least not one I saw. Someone said he didn't know what he saw, probably not Star Wars fan. I see nothing harassing whatsoever in Macgruff's statement, yet you immediately fly in 12 different directions. The harassment I saw was from you. Lighten up.

Wow! Let this serve as a great example of how written comments on a board can be completely misinterpreted!

Sorry, Luis Ramos, but I had no intention of harassing you! I did see the "69" and saw that it was a carrier. I made a mental note to search it out to try and figure out what that was. Then I see your message with the link. As you said in your message: " The story behind it..."

I was grateful that you solved the mystery, and tried saying so.

Obviously I made a mistake somewhere and got on your wrong side. Sorry for that! That was absolutely not the intention.

:o :(

Ok agree this is not harassment. It is sarcasm. So why the sarcasm? I made a nice, honest reply to help someone here. And he stings me this way.

How many times you, and others, respond to answers from others asking for help, and never receive replies like this? So it is OK to reply like this?

I will watch for your replies to posts seeking help. And turn tables on you. To see if you do not get upset...

I think you are reading his reply incorrectly.  It seems, to me, as if he is thanking you for providing context for the video.  I see nothing sarcastic in that response and he has said there was no sarcastic intent.

Mac,

Sorry for reading more into your reply than you intended.

To others I apologize for this thread and the way I carried on.

Maybe I was wrong also on another issue. I seemed to remember that Mac was prior Navy service so he would be knowledgeable about the all US aircraft carriers... That assumption was what set me off...

Reminds me of a movie title. I saw that as sarcasm based on what I believed at the time... Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder...

But why carry this on? He clarified it. Now are you going to start another tangent? Let us all "agree to disagree" and leave it at that...

[Attempting to divert the conversation with AE content]

Hey, did anyone note that T-45 Goshawk?  Wow! (ahem, nervously hoping he hasn't offended anyone...)

I spent several years helping design and test that piece of... er, that wonderful and FINE example of Naval Aviation hardware, which (belying the claims of nay sayers who said that a land aircraft couldn't be adapted for carrier suitability, and although spin prohibited due to our test team results of the Adour engine flameouts at high alpha) will continue to help produce well qualified Wings of Gold aviators for decades to come.

Forget Rhinos with JHMCS; why you could take on TIE fighters with a T-45C alone!  Booyah! BZ Sea Wars!

Cheers,
Spam
