Well......... Guess what?
My 14yr old daughter has a few friends from school who are in CAP and she thinks it would be really really really fun.... And dad, how cool would that be if you joined and helped too!
Did you tell her, "CAP? Never heard of her." LoL
Rob, you can be the CAWG "mole" in FLWG! >:D
CAP was obviously taking a tremendous amount of time. I was a SqCC, was flying CD pretty regular, plus my day job. When my son joined I was going to concentrate on Cadet Programs. After about a year he decided it wasn't his thing. Swimming and Water Polo were his passions, along with NJROTC, so CAP really just faded out pretty fast. My daughter is now interested in it. So I could see myself getting back in as long as I had a family connection. The issue of spending a considerable time working with other peoples kids, while mine spent their weekends without dad seemed to be out of whack as far as priorities. So this could be great. So my wife asks "Soooooo, are you going to go work with the kids.... or are you going to end up flying all the time again?" OUCH! :o
Well... now I guess its time for a uniform thread ! >:D
Tell her "Hey, they ARE here to get O-flights, and I am the BEST at it!"
And for the uniform twist in this thread, do you STILL have your old uniforms, and do THEY fit like they did before?
>:D
The things you'll do to get a recruiting ribbon.
Seems to me his daughter should getting credit for the recruiting ribbon. Flying Pig just needs to make sure her membership is processed before his.
I don't have my old uniforms. But I still have all the bling. Id have to say, the kid would have to get the credit. The only way I could swing re-joining with the wife is if one of the kids joined.
Well now the question......
Officer or NCO? >:D

What's the rule on recruiting a former member? Don't think I've had a situation like that.
Recruiting credit can be given for a returning member as long as the member is rejoining and not just renewing late.
You'd let your child join such a group? >:D

Ive been out 5 years. Would have no real intention of rejoining unless she did. Would be interesting to see if that is addressed anywhere.

Got a cite for that (Not saying you're wrong, just that I'd like to know the cite)
From 39-3
"Senior Ribbon.
Awarded to senior members who recruit seven new qualified cadets or senior members for CAP. A bronze clasp is awarded for each additional 10 members recruited. A silver
clasp replaces five bronze clasps. Bronze clasps are not worn after the silver clasp is awarded. An additional silver clasp is awarded for each additional 50 members recruited. Members recruited as a cadet may be included in determining entitlement in the case of senior members who were former cadets."

The question was if my daughter (cadet) would get credit for recruiting me (former senior member) after a 5 year break in membership.

Ah my mistake. It only specifies "new" members from what I see in the reg.

Well, who is the final approving authority? If NHQ, send it up and see what they say.
Im going to re-up as Manfred von Richthofen anyway... so hopefully they wont catch it in my fingerprint card and she'll get a ribbon :)
Wing awards service ribbons, or delegates authority.
So who here is in FL Wing? I stopped in at the local Sq and they were having the group commanders call. Seemed like a motivated bunch as usual. I was in my LE flight suit and a few people took turns coming back to talk to me...... Sorta made it look like I was interviewing people :). I think the Group Commander was a little concerned :)
I'm FLWG. I'm the 447th Composite Squadron ESO in Clearwater. Welcome back to CAP and to the FLWG. Where our Groups are bigger than most Wings. LoL.
I was a little slow... Why did the Group CC needed to be concerned by a LEO interviewing his staff?
Then it hit... Funny scene, thanks for posting...
>:D

There was a guy I knew in ARWG who used to post here as Manfred von Richtofen.

Legendary, Notorious, Infamous-depends on whom you ask.
When I first read the title, I thought, "Captain Trips? TS-19? Spattergroit?" Then I realized it was just CAP. It's less of a bug and more of a Michael Corleone "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in."
