Hi Delta 75,
There are two parts to achieving your CAP Form 5 "G1000" Endorsement.
The first is the Ground School called the CAP G1000 Training Course and the second is the flight portion called the VFR Transition to G1000 and the IFR Transition to G1000. Each transition comprises of at least two flights and you may need more than two flights in order to be ready to pass the Form 5.
These training must be provided by a CAP Check Pilot or Instructor Pilot that is qualified to provide the G1000 instruction.
It is highly recommended that you take the ground school, then the VFR Transition to G1000 then the Initial Form 5 (If you are initial). Fly a bit to get more familiar with the G1000 and then complete the IFR Transition to G1000 and complete an abbreviated Form 5 for the IFR endorsement.
