Title: Question about the Fingerprint card
Post by: Bennett_J on August 28, 2015, 09:13:22 PM
Is the Unit charter number supposed to go in the "Charter Number" boxes in the "Employer and Address" section of the Finger print card.
If its not clear, what I'm referring to is the set of 5 small boxes that are located just to the right of the "Charter Number" text and underneath the Civil Air Patrol HQ address on the right side of the card.
I think its supposed to be the unit charter number, so in my case MER-VA-023, but that wouldn't fit as 1 character per box. So should I drop the MER and just fill it in as VA023 with 1 character per box?

Yes, you should put in VA023, one character per box. While the full charter number is MER-VA-023, the MER is superfluous as Virginia is inherently in the Middle East Region, so they only collect the state and number.

For anyone that needs an image, there's an example on the last page of CAPR 39-2.

That confirms what I thought.
Thank you!
