Title: Different types of service coats
Post by: Afbrat52 on December 23, 2014, 03:47:17 AM
Hi y'all,

Are cadet airmen and NCOs allowed to wear the AF Officer service coat (with epaulets)?

Thanks,

C/Aidan F

39-1 is not clear on it one way or the other.

Ask your chain of command.

I think it is.  It says "Cadets may wear either style."

Do you have one available to you (like from another cadet, or through squadron supply), or do you need to purchase one?

It can be difficult to find the exact bit you're looking for in 39-1 if it isn't in the first place you'd look.

The old one did not say one way or the other...and we had a long discussion about it once.   Just not one of the many specific references I was looking at when the new 39-1 came out.

I assumed (wrongly) that a cadet asking the same question...was having the same problem as the previous edition.

Just egg on my face for not checking first.
