Title: NCSA Resume
Post by: C/Cool on November 07, 2014, 02:54:26 PM
Hey guys,
I am going to apply for a NCSA this year and I was just wondering what a CAP resume would look like. Does anyone have a reference to a manual or some examples?
Thanks a lot.

Chapter 8 of Learn to Lead has a lesson on Resumes.  I'd think you'd want to start there.

Biggest thing, a resume is not simply a list of every activity you ever attended.  Does it really matter that you were the assistant element leader 5 years ago, if you're applying to be the Cadet Commander of an encampment?  Also, you need to explain YOUR duties for the positions you list.

btw, the sample resume is for a job outside of CAP, if you list your grade as a part of your name, the CAP members reading it will know that you've received the proper awards of Wright Bros, Mitchell, Earhart, Eaker and Spaatz, and they will know the percent of members that have received that grade.  (Know your audience when writing your resume.)
