Title: Power Leads for EF Johnson
Post by: taylor914 on October 08, 2014, 01:34:23 AM
I'm looking for a set of power leads for a VHF EF Johnson Mobile that i could use to connect the radio to a power supply.  I found this http://www.radiotwoway.com/cart/index.php?target=products&product_id=5243 (http://www.radiotwoway.com/cart/index.php?target=products&product_id=5243)

But I wasn't sure if this also had the accessory connector on it?  If not is there a place I can buy the leads that already has the accessory connector?

It doesn't look like the right plug either, but I believe there are 2 different types... apparently you need 2 separate kits: https://www.efjohnson.com/resources/dyn/files/220274zc605c92f/_fn/Subscriber+Parts+Catalog+-+No+Prices.03.18.10.pdf (https://www.efjohnson.com/resources/dyn/files/220274zc605c92f/_fn/Subscriber+Parts+Catalog+-+No+Prices.03.18.10.pdf)

The OP's link is for the power cable. The accessory cable assembly is the little black plug with the loop and red or blue 22 gauge lead. This plug is necessary as the loop connects the internal speaker and the lead is the ignition sense cable. This turns the radio off when the vehicle is turned off, when properly connected. I highly recommend contacting your wing comm folks for proper installation information and assistance. I've seen many scary installs done by folks who didn't know what they were doing.

If these connectors are for CAP radios, they can be ordered from NHQ parts on-line.  The power cable set and the accessory cable set are two different items.
