There's a fascinating article in the summer issue of INTSUM: The Marine Corps Intelligence Association publication. Titled: "Intelligence Support to Operation Damayan," it describes the response to super Typhoon Haiyan in late fall 2013. For those of us who are APs or other sensor operators, there's a lot of good material on IMINT in support of disaster relief. Amidst talk of PC12s, etc., I found the following particularly amusing: "Crews aboard the SH-60s and MV-22s used smartphones to geo-tag photos subsequently imported into the Google Earth "Common Operational Picture.""
