Title: MS qual question
Post by: SuperCAP on May 17, 2014, 04:54:33 AM
Working on my MS but I've run into a snag with one of the SQTR tasks, specifically the task 'IS-100'.  I'm not sure what this is and exactly how to get credit for it.  Any help?  Thanks in advance.

That's the FEMA IS-100 course. You can take it online: https://training.fema.gov/EMIWeb/IS/courseOverview.aspx?code=IS-100.b just click the link on the right where it says "Interactive Web Based Course". After you take it you'll be emailed a certificate that you can submit to your Squadron for entry into e-services.

You can also take IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 online, which I highly recommend you do as you will run into them as requirements later on and they are non-expiring, so best to go ahead and knock them all out. IS-300 and IS-400 are courses intended for senior Mission Base staff and have to be taught in a classroom environment over a 2-day time period.

As others already noted, this is a FEMA class that you take on the FEMA website. All I wanted to add is that for the Mission Scanner qualification, you will also need to take the IS-700 class which is offered in the same place, so you may want to take both.

Good luck!
