The story appeared last night on local CBS Channel 8. The reporter did a great job and the efforts of our young cadets were well documented at last. I believe they caught the essence of our wonderful organization and hopefully lifted the veil of mystery from the "best kept secret" just a little.
I was wondering where CBS 8 was until I saw the orange SAR shirts ;D
I do believe every CAP fact in that story was correct. Wow!
Well, almost. We don't do over-water searches with doors open on the aircraft. :)
Stock footage strikes again. We also don't recover aircraft. Only locate.
Snafus aside, it's a nice piece that gives a pretty good overview.
Very cool. There have been a couple of these stories done. The reporters fill in a lot of the blanks at their leisure without consulting the organization they were interviewing. They get things wrong, they get titles and names wrong. These are fill in pieces where a reporter dashes out to get some footage, get some words and races back to the editing room. We, as the people really interested never get to tell the story the way we want it to come across.

That was entertaining, thanks everyone for sharing.
I wasn't supposed to open the doors?
