I really want to do the balloon program at JFA next year. My slotting score is at least 44. Does anyone know how JFA selects its students? If so, do you think I would get in?
Unless it changed this year or next year, JFA is a wing activity run by Illinois Wing that does not use the NCSA application or run off of NCSA slotting points.
The NCSA page says it now counts for the ribbon now: http://capmembers.com/cadet_programs/activities/csa-ribbon-list/ (http://capmembers.com/cadet_programs/activities/csa-ribbon-list/)
But since it is sponsored by ILWG, does it follow the same slotting process?
Since their web site for this year indicated that "initial slotting will take place on January 15th" .. and that "applications received after that will be for open slots and the waiting list"
IOW, Apply as early as you can. Typically 1-December, and you might get in, based on your application date, order, prerequisites and ultimately, ability to pay".
If I submit if on Dec 1st, can I still edit my application later? I also plan to apply for IACE and a couple others that require supplemental things.
As long as the application is completed in eServices and approved by your Squadron Commander by 15 Jan, timeliness is not a factor. I've completed my app both 1 Dec to mid Jan, and I'd suggest holding off until Jan to send it through.
Have you gone to JFA?
