Title: Unit T-shirts
Post by: Texas Raiders on December 29, 2012, 11:51:08 PM
Forgive me if this has been discussed here before, but I was unable to find a pre-exsisting thread on this topic.

Are unit t-shirts permitted for wear with BDUs?  We had unit t-shirts in the USCG and wore them with our ODUs/work uniforms.  I wouldn't imagine there would be an issue as long as the shirt was of an approved color.  Input?  Thank you.

Quote from: CAPM 39-1 Table 2-3. Men's and Women's Battle Dress UniformsBrown or black. Either V-neck, U-neck, crew neck or athletic style
without pockets. Black or brown turtlenecks, dickeys, or thermal
undershirts without pockets may also be worn. EXCEPTION:
members may wear white thermal undershirts even if exposed at neck.
Unit commanders may prescribe color, unit designation, and cloth or
silk screen emblem, to be worn on left side of chest not to exceed 5
inches in diameter.

Thanks.  I missed that one when thumbing through my copy.

OK, well while we're at it.......would anyone care to post photos of their unit t-shirts or will that just irritate people?   >:D

I was not aware Sqdrn C.O.s can determine color for T-Shirts.  Could some quote chapter and verse for this?

It is the color of the unit emblem that is determined by the unit CC, not the color of the shirt.

I interpret it as color of the shirt, either black or brown (black or white for BBDU).

CAPM 39-1 Table 2-3 Line 12

(Undershirts) Brown or black. Either V-neck, U-neck, crew neck or athletic style without pockets. Black or brown turtlenecks, dickeys, or thermal undershirts without pockets may also be worn. Exception: members may wear white thermal undershirts even if exposed at the neck.
