I found this out on facebook. Is there any word on a cause?
In any case.....Rest In Peace, Sir. Our prayers are with you.

Herbet.
Nope. Even assuming you missed the second "r" in Herbert, it's incorrect.

Whoops, and what is it then? Oh wait, are we talking about George H. W. Bush or Stormin' Norman?

Good point, I was talking about the General, for the President, Herbert would be correct.
Just found this line that I always loved:
QuoteAs far as Saddam Hussein being a great military strategist, he is neither a strategist, nor is he schooled in the operational arts, nor is he a tactician, nor is he a general, nor is he a soldier. Other than that, he's a great military man, I want you to know that.
His autobiography was an excellent read. He had a no-bravo sierra attitude that I liked. He was the the guy responsible for adding the tape measurements to the Army H/W regs.

+1
Loved his book...read it when it first came out in paperback in 1993.
Here's his account of his first day at West Point (and the explanation for the "H"):
Quote"Who ever heard of not having a first name! What does your birth certificate say?" While I didn't like being harassed, I was secretly glad because Pop was finally getting his revenge. (His full name was Herbert Normal Schwarzkopf, and though he hated "Herbert" and preferred "H. Norman," he'd experienced this very scene as a cadet, and as a result was called Herbert on all his Army records. To prevent this from happening to me, he'd officially named me "H. Norman.") It took the Beast Detail several minutes to look up the regulation Army solution. They finally instructed me to write "H. (F.I.O.) Norman Schwarzkopf." "F.I.O." meant "first initial only."
Schwarzkopf, H. N. (1993). It doesn't take a hero. (Paperback ed., p. 67). Bantam.

Reminds me of a story I heard fom a comedian about his dim-bulb buddy JB. He put "J only B only" on his driver's license application because JB didn't stand for anything. It came back as Jonly Bonly.
I kinda did this when creating some graduation certificates for Space 100. There was a student Li Huan or something (name made up, but you get the idea). However, because of the database it pulled middle names/initials and similar stuff for the certificates.
I don't remember if it made it to the final one, but on a lot of drafts there was Li Nmi Huan. No one had told me NMI = No Middle Initial. Oops. It passed the 'whatever, looks right to me' check. It wasn't until I saw a lot of Asian-descendant folks with the same middle name that I started doing some poking and found that out.
