Title: Recruiting and retention plan
Post by: usafcap1 on November 03, 2012, 09:41:54 PM
How do you write a recruiting and retention plan or report? Is that like a quarterly expense report? I need to do this for my specialty track (226), but I haven't the slightest idea how to make one.

Thank you

What have you done?

Did it work?

Did it not?

What did you learn?

What does the regulation say?

It's a start. It's an After Action Report for the period specified.

If I was a Squadron Recruiter I would ask the Group or Wing Recruiter what they expect as well as my Squadron Commander for an R & R Plan.

What are the needs of your unit? Counsel with the CC and set some goals for the year.

Decide what recruiting activities you are going to hold throughout the year. Big ones and small stuff. Put dates and rough details on a calendar.

Once you've got those people interested, what's the plan for getting them started off on the right foot, both cadets & SMs?

Does your unit have people ready to be assigned as mentors to new members? If not, who can take that role when the time comes. What kind of training do they need. How are they going to get that training?

What will be the process for helping those that are not getting everything out of their CAP membership? How are those people going to be identified? This is where you can work with other staff within their AORs to make an engaging program.

This isn't everything, but if you answer all these questions and write it all down, you'll have a R&R plan.
