For the patch collectors or idly curious, here is a link to the heraldry listing I have created for the Ohio Wing. The emphasis is on insignia currently in use in the wing. The handful of older insignia I have acquired scans of are listed. As will be noted, the heraldry for many of the squadron insignia remains missing, but bit by bit this is being filled in. Enjoy

Many thanks. Hopefully I can add more patches to it as folks send me the info. Those Civilian Air Reserve (predecessor to CAP) patches are hyper hyper rare. A former CAP member graciously sent me those scans, as well as the scans of almost all the other miscellaneous insignia in the e-book.
I have one of the old SARCAT patches. I will see if I can dig it up and get you the graphic for it. It looks very simular to the old Lunken patch.
Much obliged. High-resolution scans are largely what I work with. I use photoshop to isolate the patch, adjust the colors, etc. I prefer this format to share the insignia as it is less labor intensive than collecting the physical patches one by one, and helps to build good rapport with the collectors out there.
Another version of the book is up with a few more examples of defunct unit insignia. At this point phone calls will be going out to fill in the gaps for what the designs mean. Emails have worn out their usefulness.
OP-
Sir, this is an excellent piece of work. I love reading about units, and the history behind it. Thank you for taking your time.

The latest version of the OHWG heraldry book has just been published. The link at the start of the thread is still valid.
