Not sure if any of you have read this. But I thought I would share.

What a rotten shame. . . :( :( :( :( :(
What the.............? Very sad deal.
" called the teen's father — who is also her brother and who lives next door "
Wait.
What?
So If Im reading this correctly, this kids mom had a baby with her brother, and they live next door to each other.
Im sad that this happened, but so glad this was not in Kentucky....
No, the woman next door was this kid's aunt, essentially. His father's sister.
Kid was adopted, so not a blood relative. Doesn't really change the horror.
This makes me ache.
RIP, cadet! Sorry for the father.
So sad.
There must be a lot more to this then whats in the article.
Trying to break into a house wearing a ski mask and then lunging at someone with a weapon in hand. Being shot is an understandable and one could argue expected result.

I fully agree with that. Still a sad story for the father here.

15 year old kids don't think that far ahead...
Out of respect for the family, the thread and the fact that not all of the information has been released, can we try and keep the criticism to a minimum.
The fact remains that the cadet was one of our own.
What the hell was that kid thinking???
Thoughts go out to the family, I can't imagine what the father's going through.
Wow, weird. I read the article several times and still can't see how this is plausible. The kids is robbing his Aunt's house, then his dad comes out and he lunges at his dad with a weapon?!?! Either this family had some issues or we are going to hear a different version of this story soon.
Either way, sad for all involved.

You got watch those modifiers...."who is also her brother" modified the "teen's father" not the "teen"
RIP Cadet. I heard he was out of a middle school squadron?
My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
And I don't think he was in a middle school squadron. I read in one of the articles that he was 15, and in high school.
Man...CAP has had a rough week. A member of my unit had a cousin from Texas, who was a Mitchell awardee and Air Force Academy cadet, die this week.

+1
I have been in law enforcement 34 years and that is very true. A 15 year old killed a deputy who followed him home after making a traffic stop on him. The teen said his license was in his room. After the murder the teen told detectives that he killed the deputy so his parents would not find out that he was driving their second car. When asked about the blood in the living room the teen said he did not think that far ahead :o
