FTFY.

Yes, if you met all the criteria.

About how many apply for the flight academy at encampment?

Flight academies aren't encampments. They are NCSAs. Or RCSAs.

I don't know any exact amount of people that apply for NFAs, but I do know the slots are the hardest to comeby.

What would be a way to help secure a spot, if they are limited, at a flight academy? Would you consider applying for multiple flight academies?

Make yourself an outstanding cadet, academically, physically, and morally. That's about all you can do. You can't be Joe Weenie cadet and expect things to fall in your lap like I did. The more things you can do to distinguish yourself from your peers, the better your chances are of being selected for any activit, National or otherwise.

If you have the means to go to any of the several flight academies, then yes, I'd apply for all of them if that's even possible. I don't know; I haven't been active in cadet programs in a few years.

Does anyone by chance have a list of Wings that hold a flight academy during encampment such as NY Wing?

Virginia does theirs immediately after.  Basic encampment lets out and the Flight Academy starts the same day.
