At what level in the Professional Development process are you authorized to wear the Cadet Programs badge? Does it go off of PD Level (I, II, III ...), flight officer rank (FO, TFO, SFO), or rating in the specialty track? (Technician, Senior, Master)?
Thanks!
Eleibility to wear the Cadet Programs badge is tied into your Cadet Programs specialty track rating, so you can't pin it on until you earn the Technician level in that track.
You earn the basic badge (with blue star) on earning the technician rating; change out the blue for a bronze star for a senior rating and finally for a silver star for a master rating. Lately, Vanguard has been firmly gluing the star to the badge; some have carefully painted the star in the appropriate color.

I almost destroyed the last one I bought from Vanguard trying to get the blasted blue star out of it. It would make more sense to just sell the basic badge and the star separately, wouldn't it?
Jack
Or like almost every other PD badge, 3 versions.
I think the last time I checked, the only silver starts they sell are too small.

Nope...work just fine.
From Vanguard or other?
Is it supposed to the be same star as a standard ribbon attachment?

Yes, same size
I bought my badge and both extra stars at the same time. The blue star was really easy to remove. Not sure if the silver one will be so easy, since I did an excellent job of gluing it in. Might never need to, because I've been out of CP for 8 years now, and will likely never get to Master.

Well if you have the silver star in there already, you should be good since that denotes master rating already.
Just a little dab of model airplane paint will easily change the color of your star.

OK, I got the colors mixed up. The current star is the correct bronze.
Remember the good ol' days when a master rating was represented by a gold star?

You're speaking of the CP badge? No, I don't remember that.

I don't either but I understand the sentiment. Keep it the same for all of them. Bring the AE and CP(and any other oddball specialty badges ) in line with the rest of them. Or change them all to something a little more presentable as we have discussed in a couple of other threads. I don't care which way it goes but let's make them uniform just so it's not so hard to figure out if you don't have the reg right in front of you.
