Title: SDIS making a comeback?
Post by: Robborsari on May 03, 2012, 10:43:21 PM
Hello.  Globalstar has put out a new tool for determining if you can make a call:

We have tried it a few times and actually been able to send images.  Anyone else using SDIS still?

It was treated as a dead platform at our eval last month, GIIEP seems to be where we are headed.

It's beginning to make a comeback in our wing, along with GIIEP. There are just too few GIIEP kits out there, with SDIS being more available.

Globalstar is replacing their constellation -- I understand that 3 of the 6 new satellites have been successfully launched.  Service should improve once these new birds are operational.
