The moon would make a lovely death Star, plenty of room for nuclear and solar power, giant lasers, and a view of any place on this planet and several more planets at the right time. One side is always optimal solar exposure and line of sight to earth, and the other side is always cold for cooling nuclear reactors and circulating LASER coolant. Plus it would be really hard to blow the hole thing up with one X wing fighter......
