Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone.
Tonight Sandy Claws comes.
Tomorrow will find the wife and I surrounded by our three daughters, 13 grandkids, 1 great grandchild, and 9 dogs. By tomorrow night I am expecting to go to bed smelling like a Ben Gay Factory, sleep on a heating pad, and wake up Monday Morning as stiff as a 2x4. I know it's gonna happen and I am looking forward to it. So excue my if I eat like a pig, pull a muscle or several, and generally do a lot of unsafe things a grandfather should not do. (bicycles yes, skakeboards-No).

Exactly 59 minutes into me going in early on our evening shift I had one in custody for Domestic Violence. She chased him out of the apartment with a knife. Should have bought her something sparkly for Christmas.

Yeah...Richmond Virginia posted an amber alert status post a double homicide. Virginia Police are working their tails off tonight...while dreams of sugar plums dance through the heads of others who sleep protected by these benevolent people standing watch willing to inflict violence on our behalf. Thanks for your service. Please stay safe.
QuoteRichmond police said in a Tweet late Saturday: "2-year-old Kaiden Burnside is OK. Found alone inside SUV off Jennie Scher Road. Thanks to everyone for assistance.

Please remember in your thoughts & prayers the military personnel serving throughout the world, especially in war zones. This holiday season can be very stressful to them and hopefully they will return safely to their special holiday with their families when their tour of overseas/combat duty ends!

I don't know about everyone else, but I know there isn't a day where I don't think about the sacrifices of the military, 9/11, and other things.
I, like a number of others on CT, know only too well what it is like to spend holiday seasons away from home and family. I managed to spend four of them overseas: 2 in Germany, 1 in Korea and one in Viet Nam. No matter where I went, it was always good to come home.
I concur in thinking about the military deployed and in CONUS: every day. They have my undying gratitude and admiration: I have walked many days in their shoes.
Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
