Title: Posthumous promotion
Post by: O-Rex on November 22, 2011, 05:25:34 PM
Has anyone ever heard of a member being promoted posthumously?  A  good friend of mine recently passed away, he completed all req's for the next grade, and I think it would be a great gesture for his widow, also a very active CAP member.

Al Pabon was promoted posthumously. I would check with the approving authority - I don't see any problem with it personally.

It's been done before as stated with Al Pabon and others. If National hasn't removed him from the membership roster, you may be able to do it electronicly. Otherwise talk to the Chain of Command to expedite the processing.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.  My sympathies to you and his family.  As stated above they did recently do it for Al Pabon.
