When you have a FO , don't they automatically get promoted to at least 2lt after turning 21? If they still have the grade of FO after turning 21, what needs to happen to correct this? (FYI FO transferred from different wing.)
FOs are not tracked in eServices. You have to send a 2a to national to make them a 2nd Lt.
Promotions are via CAPF2 not CAPF2A

Yup, slip of the finger...
A tip to any Flight Officers out there: Be sure to track your own professional development, not just your PD Officer. Shortly before you turn 21, calculate your time in grade as well as PD to determine what grade you promote to on your 21st birthday!
FO does is not automatically eligible for 2d Lt. If they are a former Mitchell cadet, they are eligible, but you must use CAPF 2. If they have six months as a SM and or FO, they would be eligible for a duty performance promotion to 2d Lt, and the Sq CC can do this using the Promotions module in eServices. If it is less than 6 months, they would revert to SMWOG until they become eligible.
There is no such thing as an "automatic" promotion. Every promotion must be initiated by someone.

"automatic" meaning no tasks to do for completion ( other than time in grade)

Unfortunately, there are people that think that that a promotion will somehow happen magically. Using the term is best avoided.
