... perhaps if weird behavior were coming from the flight crew, or maybe the absence of the flight crew, otherwise .. 

I thought this was going to be something with an engine leaking or disintegrating.

An F16 on your wing can't hurt you, its the one you can't see at 6 O'clock that you need to worry about.
