Title: Temporary ID Card
Post by: Smoothice on August 11, 2011, 03:14:00 PM
Is there a way to print off a temporary ID card from E-Services? We are going to be working on a base this weekend, figured I should have my CAPID, but, seemed to have misplaced it. Is a 101 card sufficiant in this case?

I will order a new one, but won't get it fast enough. If I do order a replacement, will there be a confirmation email that will stand-in?

thanks!

No, I don't think a 101 card will work.

It's probably best if you're with someone else, since temps do not have pictures.

But here's the procedure-

Hehm, aha, here we are.
Log in to eServices
Click on Change/Edit My Info
Big gray bar allowing you to print Temporary ID

For future reference: consider having at least two CAP ID cards.  I keep one in wallet, one in CAP gear.  I lose my wallet or something, I still have an ID card.

Just as a quick note, some military base security entry points will not honor the temporary ID card and an authorized CAP unit representative will have to pick you up and/or escort you in.

I can confirm this  I attempted to go to the MCSS when I first joined to get my blues uniform.  Since I was only a week in as being a member I *only* had my temp ID.  I went to the AF side of the base and they refused to accept my temp ID and wouldn't allow me to enter without someone from my squadron being there with a legitimate ID.  However, the next day I went to the Army side and found someone who was familiar with CAP and allowed me entry with my temp ID and photo ID.  I thought that was ironic.

Yeah, I had the same exact experience at JFB McGuire/Dix/Lakehurst.
