Post by: flyguy06 on January 08, 2007, 02:16:09 AM
All this discusion about the Iowa Wing caused me to go to the IAWG webpage. You guys really do think you are the National Guard refering to weekends as "Drill" weekends and WTA's ;D

If something works, why not steal it for ourselves?

Great program, glad its worked for them, kudos to the commanders on both sides who have gotten this to work.

With that said, there are a few key players on both sides - just like most good CAP programs - and if too many, (or the wrong) players leave CAP or the Guard, it could dissolve overnight.

And while it loks good in the news, and to many of us, to re-militarize CAP, there are planty of people in CAP who disdain the military connection, or the extra work required to maintain that connec tion, and would not support the idea in their home states.

It doesn't scale, and in most states cannot be replicated.

So "good on 'ye" to Iowa, but if you think that model is the new CAP
think again.
