Title: Anyone in the know about AFROTC O-Rides this year?
Post by: cap801 on June 29, 2011, 12:55:41 AM
I'm finally going to meet the 300 PIC requirement to start doing AFROTC orientation flights this year.  However, my AFROTC instructor told me it that the detachment commanders took a vote as to which one of base visits, PDT's, or orientation flights was going to get funded this year.  He thinks base visits will probably win out.  I was just wondering if anyone had heard something else...it would just be Murphy's Law if the year I can finally start flying AFROTC is the year the program is cancelled.

They ran out of funding or got defunded as part of the budget cuts earlier this year.  School's out now, and we don't usually do many in the summer anyway.  New funding comes with the new fiscal year (September), so don't lose hope.
