Wheeeew.....
Daddy just wrapped up the elusive CFI rating. Who needs a flight review!!!! >:D
*Ducks and runs for cover*
Congrats sir! :)
The only really hard thing that I didnt anticipate was doing the checkride in a Turbo 206.( I mean...I knew I was going to use it) What I didnt anticipate was that the examiner would want me to instruct the manuevers while also explaining Manifold Pressure, Cowl Flap operation, prop RPM, etc as it related specifically to a high performance turbo chaged airplane doing private and commercial manuevers. And want me to explain how to monitor Engine and Turbine temps while doing the manuevers. At a few points my brain just couldnt make my mouth talk anymore. My toungue felt like it was doing gymnastics.
Afterwards at the debrief he said pretty much all of his initial CFI rides have been done in Tomahawks, 150's and 172. When I told him I hadnt anticipated explaining the manuevers AND the ins-and-outs of a HP/Turbo, he stated, "Well, if your man enough to show up with something like that, you deserve what you have coming." All in good humor. ;D
I'll need a Flight Review next month in my Bonanza: no turbo, but retractable gear and a different speed regime. I'll call you.
A 206 isn't exactly a beginners airplane. Why didn't you use one of the Hughes 500s?
I need primary flight training
meh
You may be a CFI but you're not a CAP CFI or check pilot.
IIRC, he's not even a CAP member any more, so any CAP pilot status is OBE!

Wow... Yeah. You got me there. However being a Sheriff's Department Check Pilot does pay better.
and is a whole lot more meaningful.
