Title: NLE 2011 VNN.com question
Post by: nesagsar on May 11, 2011, 12:48:22 PM
The NLE overview states that VNN.com was supposed to go live on 09May11 but I cannot access it. Is anyone else having this problem?

VNN.com is the website where FEMA runs a "news network" for the National Level Exercise. This is to add realism to the exercise and I believe some injects are delivered via it as well. What nesagsar is saying is that the FEMA overview said it is supposed to be live by now, but isn't, and wonders if anyone else is having issues with it.

The answer is that I don't get anything either. I would wait until NLE starts.

Well, it's on, and vnn.com is still blank and still registered to a company in the Bahamas!

Yeah, not sure what's going on. They might have it so that you can only see it if you're a player or controller. The docs I saw mentioned access only for specific roles.

Guessing from the outside, it's probably an internal site called "VNN", but not actually "vnn.com".

That's what I figured.  VNN.com appears squatted, not owned by the gov't.

VNN is a component of the NLE website.  If you are a player you should have received a URL and a log in.

They sent us the login message about an hour before the first live broadcast...which went live 30 minutes late. The evaluators looked nervous.
